Guru Srivani

 

Srivani has been teaching Kuchipudi Classical Dance and is the founder of Mayura Academy (School of Performing Arts) in India.

The journey of dance in Srivani’s life began at the age of 7 when she was first introduced to Ms K. Vijaya Lakshmi, by her parents, who discovered her strong inclination towards dance and taught the fundamentals of Kuchipudi dance which had a great influence in Srivani’s dance career. 

Srivani, after undergoing training for about 5 years under the guidance of Ms Vijaya Lakshmi, completed her 4 year certificate course from S.B.R.College of music and dance under Telugu University. Srivani’s passion for dance did not end with the certificate course as she took further training under the guidance of Smt. Prasanna Rani for about 2 years. 

In the later years, Srivani pursued her Bachelor’s degree in performing arts, specialising in Kuchipudi dance from Telugu University. She was trained under Guru’s like Smt Uma Rama Rao, Sri Bhagavatula Sethuram and Smt. Alekya. She has also completed her Master of Performing Arts specializing in Kuchipudi dance from Central University under great gurus Late Padmasri Dr Nataraja Ramakrishna, Dr Anuradha Jonnalagadda and Late Dr P.S.R. Appa Rao.
